The Multimedia Jukebox MP3 player has been superceded by players such as the Archos AV700 and the Archos AV500 Pocket Video Recorder.

This MultiMedia Jukebox has been described as 'Jack of all trades, master of none'. That is a lie. This is the best development in the world of personal media since the transistor radio. It's better than the invention of the portable television, better than the walkman, better than anything 'new' so far this millennium.

This basic model has now been improved on in the AV120 and the AV140, but this is still the origin of the species and it offers better value.

The similarities between the MultiMedia Jukebox and the AV100 range are manifold. The notes and review of the range rambles on about them at some length.

This unit is £34.84 less expensive than the AV120, for a very similar specification.

In order to make digital videos from TV programs or VHS video you need to have some kind of Video Capture capability on your computer because this Jukebox cannot record direct from a video source as it cannot use the DVR100 module. Once you have captured the video from a source (e.g. your favourite Video) you need to encode it in a way that the MMJB understands. That's MPEG 4, www.divx.com. Editing and conversion can be a laborious process, but once it's done you can carry the video with you everywhere.

Despite that, this Video Jukebox is capable of playing back video, both on its display screen and through a TV or projector.
