Detailed Apple iPod 40GB (m9268ll/a) 4th Generation MP3 Player Description & Review
The 4th generation iPod 40 GB MP3 and AAC player. This generation of MP3 players has been superceded by players such as the New Apple iPod 30GB Video and the Apple iPod Nano 2GB. 10,000 songs in your pocket is nothing to be sneezed at. If you think about all the repetition on your favourite radio station its almost certainly many more individual tunes than they play in a decade. 40GB is not the maximum capacity jukebox available, but its still massive. Significantly more HD space than the average computer and you carry it in your pocket. The 40 GB iPod compares well to its competitors. Like the 20GB iPod its smaller and lighter than most. Although it does not have any video capabilities at all, or even basic recording capabilities without buying additional components, it now compares well with Jukeboxes like the Archos AV140 as the outrageous old price has been replaced with one more befitting of its capabilities.
The 4th generation 40GB iPod weighs 174g, meaning that its almost half the weight of the AV140, but despite the fact that its about the same weight as the iRiver iHP-140 it still doesn't record and you have to pay extra for the wired remote/ FM tuner. Apart form the capacity, the 20GB and 40GB models of iPod are essentially the same, so all those features etc. that the iPod have in common are discussed and reviewed on one page to avoid boring you too much.
40GB 4th Generation Apple iPod MP3 PlayerThe features have improved and the price is now the right side of crazy. You can, of course get more for your money still, but as iPod owners were quick to point out, their decision was never really about the cost. It's beautiful. In form and function and 40GB will hold the thick end of 1,000 CDs so if you do own one chances are you will stay faithful to it for many years.
