The 4th generation iPod 20 GB MP3 and AAC player.

This generation of MP3 players has been superceded by players such as the New Apple iPod 30GB Video and the Apple iPod Nano 2GB.

"Easily slip up to 10,000 songs into your pocket". is something that you will see writ large as Apple have included this as part of their marketing information, but something that may well be lost in translation is that these 10,000 songs refers to the 40GB version, not the 20GB iPod listed here. Naturally, the 20GB will hold about 5,000 songs.

The 20 GB iPod compares well to other 20GB Jukeboxes. It's smaller and lighter than most other 20GB models - e.g. the Zens - although its improved battery life is still nowhere near as good as the Zen's.

They're also thinner and lighter than the Archos Gmini 120 and 220, although we are in fairness comparing the 2004 iPod with the 2003 Archos.

The biggest improvement all round in the 4th gen 20GB iPod is the cost, which has come down by 40% over 2003 prices. We have been eagerly awaiting this price correction. Now that the cost of ownership is comparable to the competition, the iPod is suddenly worth the money.

The 20 GB version weighs in at about 158 grams. That is exceptionally light - about half the weight of earlier jukebox models.

The features have improved and you cannot argue with the price. It's slim and unobtrusive. It's beautiful. It's beautiful and its easy to use and its as light as a summer breeze and as cool as a clear blue glacier. Even more so than the previous generations of iPod.
